Privacy Policy
RideSOS is built as a privacy-first vehicle QR platform. This page explains what customer, scanner, one tap location update, QR, and communication data may be processed to operate the service safely.
Data We Store
RideSOS stores account details, vehicle details, emergency contacts, medical notes, subscription status, payment records, sticker status, scan history, feedback, and alert logs needed to run the service.
One Tap Location Update
Browser location is requested only when a scanner chooses location sharing, Vehicle Blocking, breakdown, or verified Emergency SOS. If permission is granted, a Google Maps link may be sent with that selected alert.
Phone Privacy
Owner phone numbers and emergency contact numbers are not visually shown on normal public QR pages. Verified SOS may unlock direct tel links for safety while still avoiding plain number display.
WhatsApp Privacy
RideSOS WhatsApp linking is used for sending RideSOS alerts. The website does not read, display, or store personal WhatsApp chats.
Scan Metadata
When a QR is scanned or an alert is sent, RideSOS may store time, IP address, browser, device, alert reason, approximate location metadata, and permitted one tap location update data for safety and abuse prevention.
Retention
QR scan logs and one tap location update audit records are retained for up to 180 days for safety, support, fraud prevention, and abuse investigation, then automatically expire unless a legal or security reason requires longer retention.
User Control
Customers can update profile details, vehicle details, emergency contacts, medical notes, submit privacy requests, request scan and location update data deletion, request account deletion, and request data export from the dashboard.
